Special symposium
A
social will be held in the foyer of the National Marine Science
Centre (on Pacific Bay resort grounds) on the evening of 26 March
(6 - 9 pm) as a prelude to the special syposium to honour Em.Prof.
Lesley Rogers. For details, download

Thursday 27 March

symposium
Special
Symposium in Brain & Behaviour in Honour of Em Prof Lesley Rogers,
co-founder of ASSAB, will be held in the lecture theatre of the
National Marine Science Centre (8.30 am - 12.30 pm). As mentioned
in the first circular, for conference delegates to ASSAB, the symposium
is free of charge.
ASSAB Welcome
reception / registration
A
welcome reception will be held in the Novatel/Pacific Bay Resort
Foyer from noon until 2 pm on Thursday 27 March. Please bring your
talks along to the registration and hand them in at the registration
desk.
ASSAB
Conference
The
35th Annual ASSAB confernece will begin at 2 pm with a Presidential
Address, followed by the first Plenary and then Contributed papers.
Plenary
speaker: Em Prof. Lesley Rogers "Social and Cognitive Behaviour
of Animals with Asymmetrical Brains"
The
contributed papers will be followed by happy hour drinks (5 -6 pm),
and later a poresentation on "Documentaries - a film-maker's
point of view" (7 - 9 pm)
Friday
28 March
Bird-watching
A
bird-watching trip to the bush will be arranged (6.30 - 8.00 am)
if 20 people sign up.
Conference
talks
For
those unable to raise themselves for the birdwatching, the day will
start off with a plenary from Prof. Mandyam Srinivasan on "Probing
higher functions in a small brain: Vision, navigation and 'cognition'
in honey bees" (8.30 - 9.30 am), followed by contributed talks
(9.30 am - 4.00 pm), then a poster session and photographic exhibit
(4 - 5 pm) and then the AGM.
Annual
General Meeting
The ASSAB Annual general Meeting will be held immediately after
the poster session and photographic exhibit (5 - 6 pm), and will
take place in the main lecture theatre. ASSAB members are encouraged
to attend and take an active role in the adminstration of their
society.
Saturday
29 March

of Mechanism and Function in Behavioural Research" (8.30 -

The conference dinner and party will begin at 7.30 pm.
